The Lake Muskoka Boathouse is a utilitarian structure that embraces simplicity and local materials. It pays homage to traditional Muskoka boathouses without succumbing to grandeur. All components were prefabricated offsite to expedite construction, utilizing a laminated Douglas fir post-and-beam system for durability. The cladding features spaced fir boards for water runoff and airflow, revealing the supporting elements. This design also creates a warm internal glow, welcoming boaters at dusk.
